Arrest affidavit details grotesque chats involving Pueblo parents who allegedly assaulted kids

PUEBLO, Colo. – Arrest affidavits for the two Pueblo parents arrested last week on charges they sexually assaulted their own children show the grotesque chatroom messages one of them sent to another person in Florida, which depict the father coercing at least one of his children into performing sexual acts on him.

David Caple, 37, and Kimberly Caple, 31, were arrested last week on sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust charges. David Caple also faces a sexual exploitation of a child charge.

The arrest affidavit shows police first found out about the alleged abuse on Jun 27, when a detective in Florida contacted the department about chat room messages sent between a person in Florida and a person in Colorado, later alleged to be David Caple.

Many of the chat exchanges were from 2015 and 2016, but they showed David Caple had been talking with at least one person in Florida on and off about sexual activities he was involved with involving his children.

In some of the chats, David Caple discussed one of his children performing sexual acts on him, and seemingly sent the person on the other end photos of some of the acts.

The person on the other end of the chat keeps urging David to do more, while saying things like, “ooh, very nice. Very hot,” and “super cute…”

According to the chat transcripts contained in the affidavit, David Caple told the person on the other end of the chat that he was only sending the photos and talking about the sex acts while his wife was away.

But police determined through the chats that the alleged abuse had been happening for years, and detectives went to the couple’s Pueblo home to confront them.

David was at work at the time, but Kimberly agreed to go to the police station and interview with detectives.

She admitted to being involved in sex acts with her children, and acknowledged that she was aware that her husband had been exchanging nude pictures of themselves and possibly their children over the internet.

After her admissions, combined with the existing evidence, police arrested both David and Kimberly Caple on the aforementioned charges.

At last check, both were still being held at the Pueblo County Detention Center on $100,000 bonds. Their first appearances are scheduled for July 10.
